Luhmann’s slip-box workflow
11 Jul 2021

He had 2 boxes, one for bibliographical notes, another for his own ideas.

He captured notes while reading in the first box, capturing the quote and brief notes about it.

Then, shortly after, he would write ideas in his own terms in the second box.

One idea - one brief note.

Many times notes where chained together to form longer ideas.

Ideas often referenced other ideas in the slip-box. Some references where obvious and read like comments. Others were more obscure.
